Brighton Science Festival - Silhouette Workshops

During this year's Festival we offered the opportunity for people to learn about the history of portrait silhouettes; to explore how they were produced and to try making them using our copies of Georgian-period silhouette machines.

We staged our workshops with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, which is currently aiding or 'Profiles of the Past' silhouette project. We were kept very busy over all three days and eventually could not meet demand for workshop spaces.

As a result of this, we will be offering additional workshops over the summer. These will be listed in our What's On section as of April.
