BHOD 13 - Stanmer Village Tour

Description - A 1-hour talk in the beautiful setting of the church, from Len Woodrup of Stanmer Preservation Society, about the role of water in the history of Stanmer, plus historical exhibition in the church. The talk includes the donkey wheel well and the unique 19th century water catchment in Stanmer, designed and built to harvest rainwater for Stanmer House. The talk is followed by an optional trip to see the water catchment restoration in progress (stout footwear and suitable outdoor clothing recommended) and the Stanmer Rural Museum, where more background information is available.
