Description
Embassy Court was designed by the Canadian architect Wells Coates and completed in 1936. The following year, the Museum of Modern Art in New York featured the building in its seminal exhibition 'Modern Architecture in England', arguing that the UK was at the forefront of Modernism and Embassy Court the epitome of everything desirable in modern architecture.

However such innovative design in the relatively inhospitable winter presented challenges and the building fell into serious disrepair over an extended period. Extensive renovations in 2005 saw a re-emergence of this glorious landmark. It is now benefiting from regular maintenance and a vibrant resident community.

For Heritage Open Days come on a 90 minute fully-guided tour of this magnificent building. Visitors will receive an introduction to the work of Wells Coates and a detailed history of the building. A treat not to be missed!
